Light em up at the Magic Hour

December 30, 2009

Another long exposure taken at Hort Park during the “Magic Hour”. Basically waited for the lights (headlights and bridge) to come on and the sky to get blueish enough. Took 30s/45s/60s exposures at f22.

Small aperture to keep everything sharp and layered the different exposures to get best dynamic range I could get out of the picture. Corrected the purple cast on the pavement caused by the bridge lights.

This is just really awesome. I particularly the synergy of the colours and the contours caused by the movements? Especially how the fixed structures remain so sharp.

Thanks Jonathan. They are caused by the car headlights and brake lights. The Fisheye takes care of the curves!
