Less Is More

Digital or film ? Black&White or Colour ? Hasselblad ? DSLR ? Lomos ? I spend 10mins putting my luggage together and another 45mins thinking about what camera gear to bring on my trips. ( The camera gear debate actually begins days before I start packing which is usually the night before take off)

In the words of the great Jay Maisel, ” The more equipment you take, the fewer pictures you’ll take” I’m glad I stuck to this mantra ( at least for this trip) and packed only my 5D Mark 2, 50mm 1.2, 35mm f2, a Canon Speedlite off camera sync cord AND one of those free gift mini tripods ! Very handy for converting trashcans into camera tripods or light stands. ( for this trip converting a rock at the Pinnacles into a tripod)

With a little planning ahead and some basic editing tools from PS (Photomerge is awesome for creating the huge panoramas! ) The sky’s the limit !
